Dear Ms. D’Adamo First, as I am not effectively bilingual, and especially in real Spanish, I have read only the translation of your article on ”Bilinguals in the making” in the magazine for January 2012. I have, at least, perused your publication regularly and found the articles and illustrations interesting. I am concerned about the representation that the absence of most Americans having the use of a second language is a determent of our education, culture and a disadvantage to commerce and better quality of life.
